HP’s Hamirpur reports 32 more COVID-19 cases

Hamirpur, Apr 1: Thirty-two more COVID-19 cases have been reported in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday night.

CMO, Hamirpur, Dr Archana Soni said that sixteen each cases were found positive through rapid antigen test and RT-PCR test respectively.

She said that these cases belonged to all parts of the district and the new patients had been directed to observe Home isolation.

Those found positive included twelve females and twenty males.

The CMO appealed to the people to abide by the COVID-19 guidelines for their own welfare and safety.

It’s worth mentioning here that the number of COVID-19 cases was rising steadily in the district and no day passes without the detection of new cases and that is a matter of great concern for all.

With this, the number of positive cases in the district has risen to 3,478 including 305 active cases. Fifty-one of them having died due to the dreaded virus and the number of cured cases now stood at 3,121.

Meanwhile, the district administration has taken stringent measures to contain the dreaded virus by launching a campaign of No Mask: No service in all parts of the district.

An official spokesman claimed that the campaign had started showing good results and people were once again seen wearing face masks to protect them and their surroundings from the wrath of the virus that had become a big nuisance all over the World.

On other hand, the work for the sampling of more people to test them against the COVID-19 was in full swing and 523 samples were collected on Wednesday out of which seventeen were found positive and 361 negative. The report of 145 samples was still awaited.

On other hand, the department 27,603 people have been vaccinated in the district as on March 31st, 2021.

In the meantime, all educational institutions have been closed till April 4th. Earlier they were closed for the students only but as per latest orders of the state government, the teaching and non teaching staff will not attend the institutions in view of surge in COVID-19 activities in the state.

Sources in the state government told UNI that the education department had requested the state government to close the educational institutions till April 15th and a final decision would be taken today evening by the state government during its meeting.

There are indications that the Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur who is on Municipal Corporation election campaign in the district of Kangra district had told the senior officers to take strict measures to contain the growing number of the COVID-19 cases and to save others from becoming its victims.(UNI)
