Himachal CM leaves AIIMS and returns to Shimla
SHIMLA, NOV 11 : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu arrived here on Saturday after he was discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, where he was under treatment since October 27 with a gastroenterological problem.
Sukhu was welcomed by his cabinet ministers, top officials, senior Congress leaders and party workers, amid the rhythmic beats of drums.
In an informal interaction with journalists, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the people of the state who showered their blessings, prayers and good wishes for his early recovery.
Sukhu said while doctors advised him to rest and strict adherenece to a proper diet, he remains committed to fulfilling his governmental duties.
The Chief Minister said that the present state government has set a goal to make Himachal Pradesh a self-reliant state within four years and the most prosperous state in the country within the next decade. Sukhu said his government is making earnest efforts to reach the goals and a cabinet meeting has been scheduled for November18 on these issues.
Sukhu expressed gratitude to all cabinet members and officers for their responsible handling of duties during his brief absence from Shimla.
Responding to a question, the Chief Minister said he will not participate in the election campaigns across the five states, but said the victory of the Congress was certain everywhere.
Extending Diwali greetings to the people of the state, the Chief Minister wished them joy and prosperity. He expressed his commitment to rallying collective efforts towards furthering the state’s development agenda. (UNI)
