Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur in AP: Met

Hyderabad, Sep 3 : Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours, Amaravathi Meteorological Centre said.

In a bulletin, it said that heavy rainfall is likely to occur in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next three days and in Rayalaseema during the next 24 hours.

Thunderstorms and lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next five days and in Rayalaseema during the next 24 hours and on September September 6.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at many places or at few places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and in Rayalaseema during the next five days, the bulletin said.

The South-West Monsoon has been active in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours.

Very Heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places in West Godavari district of Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam. Heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places in Krishna and Nellore districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and in Anantapur district of Rayalaseema during the same period.

Rainfall occurred at many places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours, the bulletin added.(UNI)
