Gyanvapi case: Muslim side concludes its submission
Varanasi, July 12 :Hearing on the plea seeking permission for daily worship at Shringar Gauri Sthal in Gyanvapi mosque complex resumed in the district court here on Tuesday.
After hearing the submission of both the sides the court of District Judge Dr Ajay Krishna Vishvesha fixed Wednesday as the next date of hearing.
The hearing lasted for two hours during which the Muslim side and Hindu side made there submissions. The hearing which started at 2 pm ended at 4 pm.
Abhay Nath Yadav, the counsel of The Muslim side concluded his submissions after which the counsel of Hindu side lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain was given a chance to present his side.
Yadav in his submission before the court said that the case is barred by Places of Worship (Special Provision) Act,1991 and therefore it should be dismissed.
Counsel of the Hindu side Vishnu Shankar Jain submitted before the court that a place cannot be considered as a mosque just by offering namaz. He cited as Supreme Court order which states that ‘mosque was not essential to Islam for offering namaz’.
It may be noted that the application in the Shringar Gauri Sthal has been moved by five Hindu women.(UNI)
