Gujarat records max temp, Rajasthan coldest at 11 deg cc
Pune, Oct 27 : The maximum temperature of 35.6°C was reported at Bhuj (Saurashtra and Kutch) while Sikar in east Rajasthan shivered at the lowest minimum temperature of 11°C, the IMD said Today.
Day temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at isolated places over west Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at many places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi; at isolated places over east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and west Uttar Pradesh; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at most places over Punjab; at many places over east Uttar Pradesh and coastal Karnataka; at a few places over Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Andaman, Nicobar islands and near normal over rest parts of the country.
Night temperatures were markedly above normal (5.0°C or more) at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Bihar; at isolated places over Jharkhand and west Rajasthan; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Andaman, Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over east Rajasthan, Gujarat State, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Punjab and Lakshadweep.
They were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana and north interior Karnataka; at a few places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Konkan and Goa; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Vidarbha and near normal over rest parts of the country.
Thunderstorm observed (from 0830 hrs IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) at isolated places over Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Kerala and at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, south interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kasmir and Ladakh, west Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.(UNI)
