CHENNAI, JUNE 15 : The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is gearing up for
the launch of communication satellite GSAT-N2 that would enhance the broadband services
and in-flight connectivity across the Indian region.

The satellite, with a lift off mass of 4,700 kg and with a mission life of 14 years, is at present
undergoing vibration tests.

The mission launch date was yet to be announced by ISRO and in all probability it is likely to take place either in the first week or second week of July.

The dates are expected to be officially announced in the coming days once all pre-launch tests are completed.

ISRO on Saturday announced that GSAT-N2 (GSAT-20) is a Ka-band High throughput communication satellite of NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of ISRO.
GSAT-N2 is the 2nd Demand Driven satellite of NSIL.
GSAT-N2 is set to enhance broadband services and in-flight connectivity (IFC) across the Indian region
This satellite, featuring multiple spot beams and wideband Ka x Ka transponders, aims to support a large subscriber base with small user terminals, significantly boosting system throughput through its multi-beam architecture which allows frequency reuse.(UNI)
