Govt to increase number of RT PCR tests in eight districts of Maharashtra
Mumbai, Mar 31 :The Central government has directed to increase the number of RT PCR tests in eight cities in the Maharashtra state, including Aurangabad and Nanded in Marathwada region to immediately isolate the victims and investigate those who come in contact.
These cities include Aurangabad, Nanded, Ahmednagar, Pune, Nashik, Thane, Mumbai and Nagpur were worst affected due the pandemic maintaining their place in top ten .
While the infection rate in the country is around 5.5 per cent, Maharashtra has the highest infection rate in the country at 23 per cent, the report said.
Meanwhile, from tomorrow, all citizens above the age of 45 will be able to get covid vaccination.
Citizens who register on the Covin website or go to the nearest vaccination center will get vaccination.
It may be noted that during the past 24 hours, 88 fatalities and 4210 fresh cases of coronavirus were reported in the region including 43 deaths in Aurangabad and 20 deaths in Nanded district.(UNI)
