Panaji, Oct 16:Goa recorded 52 new cases of the novel coronavirus, while three people died from the virus during the past 24 hours, the health department said today.

According to the daily bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), with the addition of these new cases, the cumulative number of infections in the state rose to 1,77,462, while the death toll climbed to 3,342.

A total of 87 more recoveries were also reported during the past 24 hours, taking the number of recovered cases in the state to 1,73,510.

Recovery rate in the state currently stands at 97.77 per cent.

On Saturday, 46 patients were advised home isolation, six were admitted to hospitals while seven were discharged.
During the same period, as many as 4,188 new samples were tested, taking the number of tests conducted in the state to 14,19,312.

Currently, the state houses 610 active COVID cases.(UNI)
