Goa govt signs MoU with TCS, ACM (India), Google CS Education
Panaji, Oct 21 : The Goa Government on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate of Higher Education, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), India and Google CS Education for imparting skills to school and college students.
The MoU was signed to empower and prepare the students for the future which is one of the recommendations of the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said it was an employability skill advancement programme for college students and people providing opportunities in the digital economy.
The program would be used to strengthen the skills of college students so that they have an edge in the competitive employment environment and become well equipped to discharge the roles and responsibilities in their career.
The Directorate of Higher Education would be organizing its first program entitled (Kaushalya Week), a skill development vacation camp for school children from November 8 to 13, 2021, he said.
The program which would benefit about 1100 students in the first phase, he said, adding the second program planned would commence from this academic year
The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) was planning to collaborate with various partners from academia and industry, he added.(UNI)
