Global Health Care Summit begins in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Jan 5 : The three-day 15th Global Health Care Summit, organized by American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), began here Today.
Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the summit, AAPI President Dr Anupama Gotimukula said it was working tirelessly to create better medical facilities both in the USA and India.
“Over one lakh physicians of Indian origin are working in America particularly in Rural areas and have earned name and fame. One out of the seven patients is being treated by the Indian doctor”, she said
Dr Anupama said, in addition to running many programs in medical care both in the US and India, AAPI was playing a key role in creating improved medical facilities.
She said, AAPI has extended its support to India during Coronavirus. It secured for India, thousands of oxygen concentrators, over a hundred ventilators, multiple oxygen plants, high flow nasal cannula machines, and scores of Chemiluminescence Immunoassay Analyzer (CLIA) worth several crores of rupees.
AAPI stood by the Indian and American doctors in saving so many lives during Covid-19 pandemic, she added.
The AAPI President, as part of its motto, ‘Prevention is Better Than Cure’, and in the name of ‘Adopt A Village’, AAPI is conducting diagnostic tests in 75 villages selected from five states—Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat– on pilot basis to detect Diabetes, BP, stroke, besides Kidney diseases among other conditions to enable taking precautionary measures against the same.
Later it would be extended to other states. The data will be utilized for future course of action, she added.(UNI)
