G-Square clarifies IT raids and refutes any political connections.

Chennai, May 3 (UNI) A couple of days after the Income-Tax raids in its
multiple locations across the country, including Tamil Nadu, leadng real
estate firm G-Square Realtors today stoutly denied that it has net worth
over Rs 38,000 crore and that Rs 3.5 crore were seized during the raids
and that it was linked to a political party in the State.
There were general allegations against the firm that it was closely linked
to the top leadership family of the ruling DMK and that it has registered
a massive growth in the last two yeears.
In a statement here on Tuesday evening, company Managing Director
Bala alias Ramajeyam, while clarifying about the IT raids, said “we are
immensely grateful for the comprehensive investigations conducted,
as they have conclusively and unequivocally confirmed that we have
absolutely no association with any political party, family member of
any such party evident from our records submitted before the IT
authorities.
He said “these investigations have effectively debunked all baseless
allegations, including the false and malicious claim regarding our net
worth of Rs 38,000 crores.”
“We are greatly relieved that this is an opportunity for us to present
the truth to public and to vindicate our position which are verifiable
with central authorities”, he added.
Mr Bala said “at the same time, we are greatly disappointed and saddened
by spreading of false, maliciousinformation spread by certain news channels
and individuals, with possible vested interest and ulterior motive, regarding
the recent Income Tax search at the offices of G Square Realtors”.
“We completely deny the alleged cash seizure of Rs 3.50 crore during the
search. Such claims are baseless, misleading, and intended to tarnish our
reputation and especially when they are readily verifiable with Tax
authorities”, he asserted.
“We would also like to reiterate that there have been no cash seizures
during the recent search. We urge individuals and the media to act
responsibly and exercise due care before publishing any unverified
information”, Mr Bala said.
