Varanasi, May 20 : The Friday Namaz was offered peacefully at the Gyanvapi mosque amid tight security arrangements. Arrangement of two drums of 1,000 liter water each were made available inside the mosque for wazoo ahead of offering namaz as an alternative arrangement following the ban on entry inside the wazookhana after a purported shivling was discovered there during videography survey last. Police along with PAC and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were deployed in and around the Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi complex. A large number of members of Muslim community assembled to offer Namaz at Gyanvapi, but those, who could not enter, were asked to offer Namaz in other and nearby mosques following full attendance at the premises. The Anjuman Intezamia Committee has also appealed to the members of the community to avoid coming at Gyanvapi in large numbers and to offer namaz in the mosques in their locality.(UNI)
