Fresh Covid-19 cases dip in UT
Puducherry, Oct 25:The new Coronavirus cases dipped in the Union Territory, with 30 COVID-19 cases reported since the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM, Today.
No deaths were reported during the period.
With this, the infection tally rose to 1,27,765 and the death toll remained at 1,857.
On Sunday, 61 fresh Covid cases and two fatalities had been recorded.
According to the Covid 19 status released by the health department here, of the 2,618 swab sample tests conducted yesterday, 30 persons tested positive for the virus.
About 18 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, nine in Karaikal region and three in Mahe region.
In the last 24 hours, 43 persons were discharged and 33 of them were from Puducherry region, six from Karaikal region, one from Yanam region and three from Mahe region.
Presently, 70 persons were being treated at hospitals in Puducherry region, seven in Karaikal region, one in Yanam region and nine in Mahe region. Another, 367 persons diagnosed positive for Covid were undergoing treatment in home isolation in all the four regions of the UT.
So far, 1,27,765 persons are infected by Coronavirus and of which 1,25,454 patients were treated and discharged, 1,857 people died and there are 454 active cases now.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 1.15 per cent, case fatality rate is 1.45 per cent and the recovery rate is 98.19 per cent.
As many as 11,01,528 doses of Covid Vaccine were administered so far to the healthcare workers, frontline workers and the general public in the Union Territory.(UNI)
