Thane, April 20 :An FIR was filed against four inmate prisoners of the Adharwadi jail at Kalyan who allegedly attempted to escape from the jail, the police said on Tuesday.

Offences under sections 120B,224, rw 34 and 511 of the IPC have been registered with the Khadakpada police station under Kalyan Division based on a complaint by the jail officials.

The accused jail prisoners have been identified as Ganesh Madge, Devidas More, Deepak Vatesh and Balchandra Mengal.
On April 17, the jail officials on security rounds noticed a coil of bedsheet hung from the toilet in the circle no 09.
Upon closer scrutiny, the officials found that the accused made a contraption out of bedsheet, oil tin handles and metal wires to sneak out of the jail.
The escape bid was foiled by the jail authorities, stated police.(UNI)
