Patna, April 04: Mr. Ramchandra Sahni, former MLA, and leader of VIP, a constituent of ruling NDA in Bihar, today joined BJP along with his large number of supporters.

Mr. Sahni announced his joining in BJP in presence of its state president Sanjay Jaiswal at a function organised in the state headquarters of the BJP. Mr. Sahni and his supporters accepted the membership of BJP granted by Mr. Jaiswal.

While welcoming Mr. Sahni into his party, Mr. Jaiswal said that BJP would get strengthened with the joining of Mr. Sahni and his services would be utilized in the organisation, in the area of his influence. Mr Sahni, on his part, said he was highly impressed with the principle and ideology of the BJP and NDA government was performing well in Bihar to meet the aspirations of the people of the state.

As it is, Mr. Sahni was BJP MLA from Sugauli seat from 2015 to 2020. In the last Assembly elections held in October-November 2020, Suguali seat was given to VIP as per seat-sharing in NDA and Mr. Sahni had contested Assembly election on VIP ticket from this seat but suffered defeat. (UNI)
