Chennai, Nov 20 : Chief Minister M.K.Stalin launched a Forensic DNA Profile Search Tool, developed by the State Forensic Sciences Department here Today.

An official release said Tamil Nadu was the first State in the country to launch such a tool that would enable restoring the lost children to their parents, identification of inter-state criminals, identification of bodies and others.

The release said the tool would help reuniting kidnapped or missing children with their parents based on their DNA profiles, besides would help identifying inter-State criminals, identify people who lose their lives in natural calamities, identifying dead bodies that were washed ashore and match identities through skeletal DNA profiling, it said.

The CM also inaugurated police housing quarters, police stations, police department buildings and an office building of the Home (Transport) department.(UNI)
