Ludhiana, Jul 3 : A fire broke out at the Hindustan Tyre Factory at Cheema Chowk and a Hosiery factory in Kripal Nagar area in the district Saturday morning, fire officials said.

Chief Fire Brigade Officer said the fire started early in the morning and was brought under control immediately. But the fire in Hindustan Tyre was so severe that fire brigades were called from all the fire stations to control the blaze.

Earlier two fire brigades were summoned but seeing the intensity of the fire five brigades from other stations were called and now the fire has been brought under control to a large extent.

The officer said the Tyre factory was old and they had to face many difficulties in controlling the fire. The cause of the fire is not known.

He said there were no casualties but the goods were burnt to ashes. The matter is being investigated.(UNI)
