Filled with remorse, Sri Akhand Sahib begins path as repentance of sacrilege incident at Darbar Sahib
Amritsar, Dec 19 : The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) began Sri Akhand Sahib Path at Gurdwara Shri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall on Sunday as a repentance regarding the sacrilege incident at Darbar Sahib on Saturday evening.
SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, who was present on the occasion, said the developments that took place last evening at Darbar Sahib have caused deep mental pain to the entire Sikh world. He said the government should find out the conspiracy behind it.
The SGPC chief warned that if such incidents were not stopped, the government would be responsible for spoiling the atmosphere in the state.
He also condemned the sacrilege attempt at village Nizampur in Kapurthala district.
He said the sacrilege incident at Dardar Sahib is being investigated and information is being gathered from CCTV installed inside and outside the Golden Temple to know whether the culprit reached here alone or there were any other companions with him.
Dhami appreciated the action taken by the sangat and the task force who apprehended the culprit. He said Singh Sahib Giani Baljit Singh, who was reciting, did not let the dignity be disturbed even at this difficult time and continued the path.(UNI)
