Family structure contributes to social security in India: BJP MP
Pune, May 25 :While acknowledging a crucial role played by the family system in social fabric of society, BJP MP Prakash Javadekar said on Thursday that due to this family system, there is social security in the country.
Speaking as the chief guest after unveiling the book written by Sanjay Kulkarni on the life of Mai Kulkarni, who was a successful businessperson, here, he said, “In Western countries, a family has an average of 2.5 persons while in India it is 4.5 persons. This means that we have three generations living together, the elders are taken care of and the grandchildren are nurtured.”
“In the Indian family system, family business, conduct, thought and tradition are important. Our strength is the family system, which is unique to other countries. Mai is the symbol of Indian family system,” Javadekar added.
Ravindra Joshi, convenor of All India Family Awareness of the Sangh, was also present on the occasion.
Rama Kulkarni welcomed the guests and moderated the session.(UNI)
