Family of six shot dead in MP village

Morena (MP), May 5 :An uneasy calm prevails in this district’s Lepa village that is deluged with khaki uniforms after six members of a family – including three women – were gunned down and three grievously injured on Friday as a consequence of festering enmity.
Two of those hurt have been hospitalised in Gwalior and the third at the district infirmary – all with bullet injuries.
Furnishing the sordid details, In-charge SP Rai Singh Narwariya said here, “In 2014, Birbhan and Sobran Singh Tomar were slain and some members of the family targeted on this day were among the accused. The family shifted to Ahmedabad but an ‘amicable settlement’ was eventually reached.”
Birbhan’s kin ‘urged’ Gajendra Singh Tomar and his household to return to Lepa. Gajendra and his relatives arrived here a couple of days back and reached the village this morning. As soon as they got to their dwelling, in excess of half-a-dozen assailants attacked them with lathis and unleashed a hail of gunfire. Gajendra, his sons Satyaprakash (35) and Sanju (40); Madhu (30), Babli (36) and Keskumari (46) died on the spot.
Raids are underway for apprehending the culprits. Senior officers are camping at Lepa, which is within Sihoniya Police Station limits.
