Extremely heavy rains are forecast for Maharashtra, Goa
Pune, Sep 27 : Next 24 hours are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall at regions of Goa, Konkan, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh, the IMD predicted today.
In the same period, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds very likely at isolated spots of the aforementioned places, added the bulletin.
Thunderstorms were observed (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, east Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Vidarbha, Assam and Meghalaya.
The monsoon has been vigorous over eastern Rajasthan, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala; it is active over Odisha, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Marathwada and Telangana.
While, it has subdued over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and southern interiors of Karnataka.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Odisha, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, north interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, east Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch and south interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kasmir and Ladakh, west Rajasthan, Rayalseema and Tamil Nadu.(UNI)
