Pilibhit (UP), Aug 2 : Three sisters were on Tuesday trapped under the debris with the portion of a house collapsed after firecrackers stocked there caught fire leading to an explosion in Jahanabad area, police sources said here.
Police said that Azeem Baig, a resident of Mishran Tola, has licences to manufacture firecrackers. “Though Baig has a warehouse at an isolated place outside the city, he had stocked a large amount of explosives and firecrackers inside his two-storied house,” they said.
Police sources said that around 3 pm a huge explosion took place inside the house and while other family members managed to escape, Baig’s three daughters were buried under the debris as a portion of the house collapsed.
Police sources said, “Baig’s two daughters have been rescued by the police and the firefighters and have been admitted to the hospital in a serious condition. His third daughter is still trapped under the debris and a relief and rescue operation is being carried out to take her out,” they said.(UNI)
