Expected heatwave conditions in Yanam and AP for the next 48 hours: met

AMARAVATI, MAY 4   :      Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours, Meteorological Centre said on Saturday.
In a daily weather report here, it said that thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speed ranging from 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next five days.
Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on May 7.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at one or two places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next seven days.
The trough from south Chhattisgarh to Rayalaseema across Telangana at 0.9km above mean sea level has become less marked.
Heatwave conditions prevailed in Nandyal (Nandyal district), Anantapur (Anantapur district), Kurnool (Kurnool district), Kadapa (Y.S.R. District), Arogyavaram (Annamayya Ddstrict) of Rayalaseema, Nellore (SPSR Nellore district) of Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours.
Rain occurred at one or two places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema and dry weather prevailed in Yanam during the same period.
The highest maximum temperature of 46.3 degree celsius was recorded at Nandyal in Rayalaseema, the report added.(UNI)
