Panaji, Oct 16 : Former Goa Shiv Sena Vice-President Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik today said she will contest next assembly elections as an independent candidate.

“Will contest the assembly elections as an independent candidate,” she told UNI over phone.

Earlier in a tweet, she said,”My stint in Shiv Sena has ended but not my resolve to work for the people of Sanguem. The constituency requires attention as it is reeling under developmental issues. Sanguemkars need to come together with independent mind and work towards it.”

Naik, who was also spokesperson of Shiv Sena Goa unit, had resigned on October 15, alleging that party leaders were not serious about contesting elections.(UNI)
