Ex-CS of AP S V Prasad dies of COVID-19, CM condoles
Hyderabad, Jun 1 : Former Chief Secretary of United Andhra Pradesh SV Prasad, who had tested positive for COVID-19, died at a private corporate hospital while undergoing treatment here Today.
He was 69.
Prasad diagnosed positive for Coronavirus a few days ago.
Currently, his wife and children are also undergoing treatment for Covid at a private hospital.
A 1975-batch IAS officer, Prasad did his MBA from the IIM-Ahmedabad, and began his career in the government service as a Sub-Collector in Gudur of Nellore district.
He was promoted to Chief Secretary when K Rosaiah was Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh in 2010. He had served as the first Vigilance Commissioner of the state after bifurcation.
Prasad has the highest credentials of successfully working with four Chief Ministers– N T Rama Rao, K Vijayabaskar Reddy, N Janardhan Reddy and K Rosaiah and had worked for about 8 years as Secretary and Principal Secretary under Ex-Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has mourned the death of the former Chief Secretary in the united AP State S V Prasad.
In a message, the Chief Minister has conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved family.(UNI)
