Chennai, Jan 1 : Withe one more Omicron positive case reported

taking Tamil Nadu’s tally to 121 and the daily COVID cases inching

towards the 1,500 mark, entry of public to the Marina beach was

banned from tomorrow.

A directive to this effect was issued Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC)

Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi on Saturday night.

While morning joggers and walkers will be allowed for their regular practice,

public, who had gathered in very large numbers in view of the New Year holiday

leading to possibility of increase in cases today, will not be allowed from tomorrow.

The GCC said differently-abled people, however, will be allowed to enter the beach

on the specially made track for them.(UNI)
