Eminent Odia film music director, singer , composer Amaredra Mohanty dies of covid

Kendrapada, May 17: Renowned Odia film Music Director,Singer and composer Amarendra Mohanty alias Bulu died at a private hospital at Bhubaneswar today while undergoing treatment for Coronavirus.He was 63.
Mr.Amarendra Mohanty was born on February 6, 1958 at Naganpur villagers under Garadapur block of the district.
Jitendra Mohanty, his uncle said Bulu was tested Covid positive on April 19 and was admitted to Bhubaneswar based hospital on May 3 last.
He was put on a ventilator for the last four days after his health condition deteriorated.
Amarendra Mohanty was trained as a classical musician from a young age and started his career as a singer with Akashvani cuttack.
He ventured into the world of Music direction in 1993, after he earned fame as a successful singer in many Odia films.
He had started his music direction with Odia film “‘Shrdhanjali “The last film that he was a part of is “He Sakha.” In 2012.
He has several hit bhajans and movie songs to his credit as both singer and composer and composed songs for popular Odia movies such as Bhai Hela Bhagari, Stree, Suna Panjuri, and Kandhei Akhire Luha.
A Pall of gloom descended in his native village Naganpur villagers under Garadapur block of the district after his demise.
Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan condoled the sad demise of Amarendra Mohanty and expressed their profound grief.
In a condolence message the Governor said the Music director would be remembered for his creativity and contribution to Odia music.
The Chief Minister said “I am shocked to learn about the demise of eminent music Director Amarendra Mohanty. He prayed for the salivation of the departed souls and expressed his sympathies to the bereaved family members.
Senior music director and composer Prema Anand ,who belonged to Kendrapara district expressed his profound grief over the death .
Condoling his death, Mr Anand said ‘’ Amarendra had been considered as a royal music director. I am heartbroken after hearing the news. This is a great loss to the Odia music industry.”
“The simplicity and loving nature of Bulu bhai will remain with me forever .I condoled on the untimely demise of Bulu bhai one of the jewel of Kendrapara in Odia film Industry “, stated Bimal Parida, of Bhabagrahi Kalaniketan Baro.
The renowned Gajal singer Baishnab Kailash said “it’s a great loss personally for me as Amarendra Mohanty was like my elder brother .He used to encourage and praise me a lot for the style of my gajal singing .I will miss him a lot, he said while remembering the versatile music director.(UNI)
