Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 7 : Kerala Health Minister Veena George Today  said that out of the 10 samples of Covid-19 positive patients, sent for genome sequencing to detect the presence of Omicron variant, eight tested negative in the state.

Two people from Kozhikode, two each from Malappuram and Ernakulam, one each from Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta districts tested negative for Omicron variant today, the Minister said.

Out of 10 COVID affected people, who reached here from ‘high risk’ countries, the result of two are awaited from the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology Laboratory here where the Omicron test is being conducted, she added.(UNI)
