EAM Jaishankar in Doha, holds talks with Qatari FM on bilateral ties, Afghanistan
Doha/New Delhi, Feb 9 : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar Today was in the Qatari capital and held talks with the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on the bilateral economic and security partnership as well as on Afghanistan. The EAM in tweets said that he also thanked the Qatari authorities for the support to the Indian community. “Held productive talks with DPM and FM of Qatar @MBA_AlThani_ . “Discussed our broad based political, economic, digital and security partnership. Appreciate the interest in expanding investment and trade. “Thank Qatari authorities for support extended to the Indian community. “Exchanged views on global and regional developments, including Afghanistan.” The Qatari Foreign Minister in a tweet said that during his meeting with the EAM, the two held fruitful talks on ways to enhance the bilateral ties, and also the regional developments. “Met with HE @DrSJaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, and had a fruitful discussion on ways to develop bilateral relations in various fields. We also discussed latest regional developments and exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest,” the Qatari Minister tweeted. Later, the EAM unveiled the foundation stone of the new Indian Embassy complex in Doha, with the event being graced by the Qatari FM. “Unveiled the foundation stone of the new Embassy complex in Doha. Thank DPM and FM @MBA_AlThani_ for gracing the ocassion. “Confident that the new chancery complex will meet the aspirations of the Indian community in Qatar.” (UNI)
