E3 2021 Will Be a Digital Event Says the Organizing Team
Mar 20, (UNI/TNM): According to the organizing team, the biggest gaming event the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or for short E3 2021 has been canceled at least in its standard live format. Unfortunately, this does not come as a surprise considering the situation in the world regarding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which has been ravaging since March 2020. Back in March of 2020, it was revealed that the E3 2020 has been canceled and the situation does not look promising this year either.
Even though gaming fans and enthusiasts are extremely disappointed that the E3 2021 will not be returning in its standard live format, the organizing team has made the right decision considering the
current epidemic situation. The E3 2020 was canceled in March last year and this year’s event cannot be held as well since the organizers value the safety of every single E3 fan and supporter too much to put them at any kind of risk.
Fortunately, the E3 2021 will be held in a slightly different format. According to the organizing team, it will be a digital event which just like live events should reveal new exciting games, games updates, and new gaming consoles. Even though supporters and fans will not gather together physically, they will meet with each other online to connect and share their thoughts and ideas just like previous years when the event was held in its standard live format.
Electronic Entertainment Expo 2020 Cancelled
As previously mentioned, the very first E3 event that was canceled since 1995 was E3 2020. Just like every other year, the event was scheduled to take place in June at the Los Angeles Convention Center. However, the event’s organizer Entertainment Software Association announced the event was canceled. At the time, the organizers were looking at some alternative options for the event to be held but eventually decided to cancel it altogether.
Even this caused a major disappointment among companies, businesses, manufacturers, and of course gaming fans and enthusiasts, at the time this was the right decision to make considering covid-19 is
highly infectious and spreads easily among groups of people. Back in 2020, the organizers wanted for the event to be held in a slightly different format without having people coming to the Las Angeles Convention Center.
The best option was to hold an online or digital event and the organizers sent private messages to all of their partners suggesting this. However, E3 2020 was canceled and no online event was held. Following the cancellation of the biggest gaming event, some of its major partners including Ubisoft and other developers and manufacturers conducted showcasing events on their own to promote their new projects and this leads us to E3 2021 which will be held in a digital form according to the organizers.
E3 2021 Coming Soon in a Digital Form
Since the coronavirus pandemic is far away from being over, major events including the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2021 are being held virtually or online and this is the best option considering the current situation. Since the last year’s event was canceled, this will be the twenty-sixth E3 event and just like every other year, manufacturers, developers, as well as publishers from the growing video gaming industry finally come together virtually to promote and showcase their new and upcoming projects.
Just like every year, E3 2021 is organized by the Entertainment Software Association and according to the organizers it starts on the 15 th of June and lasts until the 17 th of June. The organizers also announced that some of the E3 virtual events will be broadcasted from the Los Angeles Convention Center. What we know so far about E3 2021 digital event:

The organizers have also revealed that every day of the event will start with a thirty-minute preshow and then two-hour press conferences by Nintendo,Sony, Microsoft, and other major partners.
