Srinagar, Mar 6 :Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband from him in central Kashmir district of Budgam.

A police spokesperson said that following specific information, a checkpoint was established at Mazhama in Budgam. “Police intercepted a suspicious person at the checkpoint and during checking recovered 100 grams of charas,” he said.

He said the accused, identified as Asif Ahmed Dar, was immediately taken into custody. “A case under relevant sections law was registered at Police Station Magam and investigation taken up,” he added. (UNI)
