Bhubaneswar, Sep 15 : A drug peddler from Jatni area in Odisha’s Khurda district was arrested and police seized 11.80 grams of brown sugar besides Rs 1.22 lakh in cash from his possession.

Jatni Police sources here on Thursday said acting on a tip off police conducted a raid and arrested Sushanta Kumar Sahoo of Kusumati from near the Tarini temple Madhusudan Nagar, Jatni on Wednesday.

Besides brown sugar and cash, the police also seized a mobile phone, 310 grams of gold ornaments and 450 grams of silver from his house illegally accumulated from the sale of Brown Sugar.

The accused was previously involved in a NDPS case which is pending before court A case against him is also pending in Jatni Police station, police said.(UNI)
