Dr. Karnavat performs telescopic thyroid surgery at Medicover Hospital.

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAIJNAGAR, AUG 9 :  A 32-year-old woman from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar town had a thyroid gland tumor, which doctors advised her to remove surgically. Despite her reluctance due to neck ulceration, the team performed surgery through the mouth through the telescope at Medicover Hospital here.

Addressing a press conference here at Medicover Hospital, Oncosurgeon Dr Anand Karnavat said that, tansoral endoscopic thyroid surgery was successfully performed without any scarring or ulceration and claimed that this is the first surgery of this type in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra state.

Dr Karnavat further said that transoral endoscopic surgery is a modern surgical method in which a small hole can be made from inside the mouth on the inside of the lower lip to reach the thyroid gland. With the help of an endoscopy camera and special equipment, doctors can remove the thyroid gland or tumor. This surgery does not cause any wounds or ulcers like in traditional surgery, and the patient can resume his daily activities on the second day of the surgery. This surgery does not cause the wound or ulceration of conventional surgery, and the patient can go about his daily activities on the second day of surgery.

Dr. Karnavat announced the first rare surgery in Marathwada, performed at Medicover Hospital, utilizing the latest facilities under one roof. The patient attended a press conference to discuss her views on the surgery.(UNI)
