Donning PPE, Mandaviya meets AIIMS’ Covid positive healthcare workers
New Delhi, Jan 6 : In a noble gesture, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya Today met and enquired about the health of Corona positive doctors and healthcare staff of AIIMS New Delhi.
In the courtesy meeting conducted today evening, the minister was seen wearing PPE and being accompanied by the institute’s Director Dr Randeep Guleria while meeting the AIIMS healthcare workers who are getting treatment at the hospital facility itself, the video released by the Union Health Ministry showed.
“Met corona infected healthcare workers of AIIMS New Delhi today and inquired about their health. Our health army is playing a crucial role in keeping the country safe. The country remains healthy only when its health care workers (HCW) are healthy. I pray for all HCW’s speedy recovery,’ Mandaviya posted on Twitter.
According to the sources, more than 100 HCWs including 50 doctors at AIIMS have tested positive for Covid-19.
India on Thursday reported 90,928 new Covid-19 cases, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s morning tally. The daily positivity rate has risen to 6.43 per cent.
As many as 2,630 cases of the Omicron variant has been reported in the country so far.(UNI)
