Digital health cards would be available from the Telangana government in 30 days, according to CM
HYDERABAD, SEP 26 :Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the government is set to introduce digital health cards across the state within the next 30 days.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Durgabai Deshmukh Renova Cancer Center on Thursday, the Chief Minister emphasized that the government is prioritizing both education and health services.
He highlighted the need to provide affordable medical facilities to the poor, stating that a health profile will be created for every individual in the state, with plans to digitize health profiles for approximately 4 crore residents. The digital health cards will include details of diseases and medical history.
He praised the Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital for its commitment to improving healthcare access for the underprivileged, acknowledging that many individuals suffer from cancer and that treatment can be a significant burden for low-income families. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of making cancer treatment accessible to all residents of Telangana.
Reddy pointed out that patients often have to undergo basic tests upon visiting hospitals due to the absence of health records. This underscores the importance of digitizing health profiles for everyone in the state.
“The Minister of Health is highly competent, and education and health are top priorities for our government. We will make every effort to implement the proposals presented by the hospital management,” the Chief Minister affirmed.
