Dejected lover kills girl, Women Commission Chairperson consoles parents

Nellore, July 2:State Mahila Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma paid homage to Tejaswani who was stabbed to death by a dejected lover and consoled her parents in Guduru town in the district here on Friday.
The deceased, Tejaswani was a final year engineering student and the accused Venkatesh had been forcing her to marry him. He barged into her apartment yesterday when she was alone and forced her to accept his love and marry him. When she rejected, the furious Venkatesh stabbed her on the neck causing instant death.
On receipt of the information, the police went there and broke open the door. On seeing the police, the accused pretended of hanging himself. The girl was shifted to the government hospital where she was declared brought dead. The police arrested the accused.
Meanwhile, the Women Commission chairperson consoled the bereaved parents of the girl. Talking to the media the Chairperson said that though the police reached the place within minutes, they could not save her as by the time he had killed her.
She said that she had spoken to the Superintendent of police and asked him to take steps to ensure that the accused is punished by the court. Steps were taken to set up special courts and appoint special public prosecutors to punish the culprits in such heinous cases at the earliest, she said.(UNI)
