Jalna, Sep 30 : Union Minister Raosaheb Danve today  visited rain-hit villages in Badnapur taluka of the district and inspected the crops damaged due to cyclonic storm ‘Gulab’.
Cyclone ‘Gulab’ had brought about heavy rains in Marathwada, causing severe damage to the standing crops.
Therefore on his arrival from Delhi today, Mr Danve rushed to see fields affected due to heavy rains and inspected the damaged crops at Tupewadi and Bawne Pangri.
During his visit, the Minister interacted with the affected farmers and reassured them of help.
He said the severity of the situation was very grim, and the farmer was in big trouble due to large-scale damage to the farms.
At this time, farmers demanded that a wet drought be declared in the district.
Mr Danve also met district collector Dr Vijay Rathore and instructed him to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the losses of farmers due to heavy rains.(UNI)
