Chennai, Sep 28: Mr. Saumitra Kumar Haldar was today appointed full-time Chairman of the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA).
The appointment of Mr. Haldar, who is also the head of the Central Water Commission, to the post was approved by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet.
The CWMA has got its full-time chairman more than three years after it was constituted.
Mr. Haldar will hold the post of CWMA chairman for five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. (UNI)
