Puducherry, Mar 18 : The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Thursday announced party state committee member R Saravanan as the party’s candidate to contest the April 6 assembly elections from Muthialpet constituency.

It may be noted that since, the Congress led Secular Democratic Alliance (SDA) failed to allot a seat for the CPI(M), the party is fighting the Muthialpet constituency alone.

Addressing a press conference here this evening party secretary Rajangam,Tamilnadu state committee member Arumugha Nainaar, and central committee member Ms.Sudha said that in other constituencies, the CPI(M) would canvass for the SDA. The party have decided to indulge in intensive campaign to prevent the BJP from coming to power here.(UNI)
