COVID: Recovery tally continues go up in Maharashtra

Mumbai, May 17:A total of 48,211 COVID patients were discharged after recovering from the virus in the past 24 hours, according to the state health bulletin issued today.
This is the eight consecutive day when more recoveries were reported than new cases across in the state. With this, total number of recoveries goes up to 48,74,582 in the state.
Meanwhile 26,616 new COVID-19 cases and 516 deaths were also reported in the last 24 hours.
The fresh surge has taken the infections tally to 54,05,068, while the death toll to 82,002 as per the bulletin.
The recovery rate has now shoot up to 90.19 per cent due to more recoveries of patients. The fatality rate is 1.53 per cent.
The state has 4,45,493 active cases now undergoing treatment, the bulletin added.(UNI)
