COVID: Kashmir witness two deaths, 127 fresh cases in J&K
Srinagar, Oct 6 :Two deaths were reported in the valley while 127 new positive COVID cases were recorded in Jammu and Kashmir during the past 24 hours, officials said today evening.
They said there was however, no fresh case of mucormycosis in J&K.
Officials said 127 new positive cases–54 from Jammu Division and 73 from Kashmir Division—were reported during the past 24 hours.
Two COVID patients died in the valley, they said.
They said 134 COVID-19 patients recovered— 22 from Jammu Division and 112 from Kashmir Division—during the past 24 hours.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 47,470 COVID tests being conducted. Total no of active positive cases within the UT are 1065 cases– 279 in Jammu Division and 786 in Kashmir Division–, they said.
Officials said that 1, 65, 953 doses of COVID Vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered to 12, 353,745.
They said there was no case reported in Kulgam, Shopian and Bandipora.
Srinagar district continued to witness the highest number of COVID positive cases in the Union Territory (UT) though it was 44 today, two cases less than yesterday when it was 46. Baramulla had eight cases followed by Badgam seven, Anantnag and Ganderbal five each, Pulwama three and Kupwara one.(UNI)
