‘Covid-19 testing centers to come into operation at three more places’

Kakinada, April 25: East Godavari Collector d Muralidhara Reddy has said that three more Covid testing centers would come into operation at Tuni, Ramachandrapuram and Kothapet primary health centers from April 26 onwards .

He told media persons at Rajahmundry after inspecting the facilities available to covid patients at the Government district hospital on Sunday that at present daily 6500 RTPC tests were being conducted and with the opening of three more centers 1,000 more tests could be conducted from tomorrow .

He said Special officer Polavaram Irrigation project relief and rehabilitation wing was appointed as the special officer for monitoring and supervision of the Covid hospitals . The Collector has advised the people to stay at home as far as possible in view of the severity of the Covid infection rate and postpone the visits to public functions .

He also warned that the licenses of the private hospitals would be cancelled and stringent action would be initiated if any hospital found charging higher rates from the Covid patients under the pretext of special additional treatments.

Joint Collector development wing Keerti Chekuri, Municipal commissioner Abhishikt Kishore, sub collector Anupama Anjali, Covid special Officer O Anand, trainee Assistant collector Gitanjali Sarma were among those attended.(UNI)
