COVID-19: Marathwada reports 6608 new cases
Aurangabad, April 9: Eight districts of Maharashtra’s Marathwada region registered 6,608 more cases of COVID-19 and 84 fatalities during the past 24 hours, informed health authorities here Today.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Nanded was worst affected, as it recorded 1,450 cases and 26 deaths, Aurangabad recorded 1362 new cases and 22 deaths, Parbhani registered 713 new cases and 10 deaths, Latur had 1010 cases and eight deaths, Jalna had 618 cases and six deaths, Hingoli had 255 cases and six deaths, Beed had 711 cases and three deaths and Osmanabad had 489 cases and three deaths.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours total of 56,286 fresh cases of COVID-19 were registered across the state taking its cumulative
tally of infections to 32,29,547.
The state also registered 376 more deaths, taking the overall death toll to 57,028.
Meanwhile, a total of 36,130 patients recovered and were discharged from the various health facilities of the state.
This takes the total number of recoveries to 26,49,757 across Maharashtra.
The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 82.05 percent and the fatality rate is 1.77 percent.
At present there are 5,21,317 active patients across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centers and hospitals, added the officials. (UNI)
