Aurangabad, Feb 08: The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 487 fresh cases of Covid- 19 and six deaths during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Tuesday. Reports collected by UNI from the all district headquarters stated that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district was worst affected recording highest 84 cases and five deaths followed by Latur which had 75 cases and a single death, Hingoli had 98 cases, Osmanabad district reported 77 cases, Nanded had 63 cases, Beed had 41 cases, Parbhani had 36 cases and Jalna had 13 cases, they added. Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 6,436 fresh cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 78,10,136. The state also registered 24 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,43,098. Meanwhile,18,423 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 75,57,034, the recovery rate currently stands at 96.76 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.83 per cent. At present, there are 1,06,059 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different Covid-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said. Meanwhile no fresh case of Omicron was spotted in the state. Hence the tally of Omicron remains at 3334.(UNI)
