COVID-19: Marathwada registers 1274 new cases
Aurangabad, Mar 10 :The eight districts of Marathwada region reported 1,274 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours which was highest spike in cases in recent months, informed health authorities on Wednesday.
The region also reported 14 more deaths due to coronavirus during the same period.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI shows that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district was worst affected as it recorded 550 cases and eight deaths followed by Parbhani which recorded 59 new cases and three deaths, Nanded registered 225 new cases and a single death, Jalna recorded 182 cases and a single death, Osmanabad registered 38 cases and a single death, Beed registered 93 new cases, Latur registered 83 cases and and Hingoli had 44 cases.
As per official data, 9,927 fresh COVID-19 patients and 56 more deaths were reported in the state, taking the state’s cumulative tally to 22,38,398 and the death toll to 52,556.
On the other hand, 12,182 patients were discharged during the day across the state, taking the overall count of recoveries to 20,89,294.
There are currently 95,322 active cases in the state that are undergoing treatment.
The recovery rate in the state currently stands at 93.34 per cent and death rate stands at 2.35 percent, confirmed sources in the Health Department.(UNI)
