COVID-19 deaths rise in AP, 22,610 fresh cases reported
Vijayawada, May 20 : The deaths of Coronavirus patients have been rising for the last 10 days in Andhra Pradesh as 114 patients died in a period of 24 hours while a whopping 22,610 new cases were reported.
As many as 698 Coronavirus patients have died during the last seven days in Andhra Pradesh. According to official information 106 patients died on May 19, 99 patients died on May 18, 108 patients died on May 17, 101 patients died on May 16 and 98 patients died on May 15.
According to a health bulletin here Today 1,01,281 swab samples were diagnosed during a period of 24 hours ending at 9 am today of which 22,610 were tested positive for Coronavirus while 114 patients died. There are 2,09,134 active cases in the state now.
The Covid-19 death toll has risen to 9,800. Highest number of 17 deaths reported in Chittoor district in 24 hours, 15 deaths in Chittoor district and 10 each in East Godavari, Visakhapatnam and Guntur districts. Highest number of fresh cases 3,185 reported in Chittoor district, 3,602 cases in East Godavari district and 2,066 in West Godavari district.
Total number of positive cases has touched 15,21,142 of which 13,02,208 have recovered. So far 1,83,42,918 swab samples have been diagnosed in AP.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy announced in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday that Rs.10 lakh would be deposited in fixed to the children who have lost their parents due to Coronavirus.(UNI)
