Consuming large quantities of Maida, Sugar increase risk of heart attack : Dr Jain

Hyderabad, Dec 1 : Cardiological Society of India (CSI) organizing Secretary Dr Rajendra Kumar Jain Today said that consuming large quantities of Maida and Sugar will lead to suffer from heart diseases.
India is going to be a heart disease hub by 2030, he said.
Consuming large quantities of Maida and sugar would increase the risk of heart attack and also lead to a bad lifestyle, Dr Jain told reporters at a curtain raiser press conference in connection with the four-day 73rd Annual Conference of Cardiological Society of India (CSI) beginning here from Thursday.
He said consuming a large quantity of Maida increases the cholesterol levels in the body. Cholesterol is a type of fat that accumulates in the way of transporting blood to any part of the body.
Eating flour significantly increases the risk of a heart attack and it is the worst to heart disease, Dr Kumar cautioned.
If you eat too much sugar, it increases insulin in the body and increases the risk of diabetes which is harmful to the heart, he said.
If the Union government imposes a ban on Maida and Sugar in the country, the budget on healthcare would come down, the CSI Organizing Secretary said.
There is no Maida consumption in America, European countries and Japan, he added.(UNI)
