Hyderabad, May 16 : Congress MLA Ms Danasari Anasuya alias Sithakka staged a protest at the Ambedkar statue, Tank Bund here on Sunday demanding inclusion of COVID-19 treatment under the Arogyasri scheme.
Speaking after submitting a memorandum to Dr B R Ambedkar in this regard, she said that the state government was not considering their demand inclusion of Covid-19 treatment under Arogyasri scheme even held several agitational programmes.
The MLA said that all the private hospitals were filled with Covid-19 patients. Beds were not available in the government hospitals. What about the poor people who are not in a position to admit in private hospitals, she questioned.
The Congress leader said The state government had agreed in the past to include COVID treatment under the Aarogyasri scheme after the first wave of the pandemic last year, but had been keeping silent on it since then.(UNI)
