‘Congress leaders issuing statements which are creating panic & confusion in people’s mind’
Panaji, May 20 :The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Today accused Congress leaders of issuing statements which were creating panic and confusion in the minds of people.
In a statement, BJP Goa unit spokesperson Urfan Mulla said, ”It is known that Covid-19 is declared as a pandemic and the government has invoked the Diaster Management Act. The citizens of this state have been cooperating and appreciating when inspite of the unexpected wave the BJP government under the Chief Minister has taken measures to control the pandemic.”
”The main opposition party which has reached the peak of their frustration in the most irresponsible manner are attempting to create panic and confusion among the pain and suffering of our people and misguiding them against the Ivermectin drug which is an FDA approved drug. This drug is being used and prescribed by doctors even before the pandemic started,” he said.
”In the present circumstances, the drug has been approved to be used by the expert committee as a preventive measure. And it is also known that such preventive measures are never 100 per cent effective. The Congress party has found two leaders in the form of Goa Congress General Secretary Amaranth Panjikar and South District President Joe Dias to speak and issue press notes that are sent from the Leader of Opposition (LOP) office as no other sensible leader from the party is prepared to speak what they speak,” he alleged.
He accused the Congress leaders of trying to take political mileage out of the pain and suffering of the people.
Claiming that the BJP government headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was working day in and day out to bring the pandemic under control as he had the interest of his people top most in his mind and it was his top priority, he appealed to the people to cooperate with the government to reduce the suffering of every ‘Goemkar’.(UNI)
