SHIMLA, SEP 17 : Union Minister Smriti Irani was shown black flags by Congressmen during her visit to Rampur on Saturday.

About sixty to seventy workers of Congress held a demonstration at Helipad Road near Zero Point at Rampur. Congress woman cell have given the call of Protest against union Minister for her previous promise to bring down prices of LPG cylinders and other daily commodities being used by housewives in kitchen.

Congress workers were carrying out cutouts of LPG cylinders during demonstration. Congressmen also raised slogans against the union minister. The call of protest was given by block unit and Mahila Congress against ruling BJP for not being able to control inflation.

Mahila Congress’s state president Jainav Chandel said on the birthday of Prime Minister women don’t want to present empty cylinders, therefore, they carried cut out of LPG cylinder. She said owing to utter failure of BJP government to control prices of cooking gas poor women could not afford to buy Rupees eleven and a half hundred cylinder. She said government provided LPG cylinders to women but now they could not buy it for Rs 1150.She said Union Minister had vehementaly protested under UPA regime against costly cylinder which was available for Rs 450. Protest lasted peacefully.(UNI)
